Procurement Officer

Our client, a global leading provider in the Construction industry, is looking to appoint a successful Procurement Officer to be based in Maputo.
ACTIVITIES
Procurement & Sourcing
• Plan and execute procurement activities for civil engineering materials, equipment, and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers and contractors in line with technical and commercial requirements.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and tenders, ensuring clarity of technical specifications.
• Conduct bid evaluations in collaboration with engineering and project teams.
Contract Management
• Draft, review, and administer procurement contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements.
• Ensure contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and project specifications.
• Monitor contract performance, variations, claims, and extensions.
• Maintain accurate contract records and documentation.
Supplier Management
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and HSE compliance.
• Resolve supplier disputes, delivery delays, and non-conformance issues.
• Support local content and approved supplier strategies where applicable.
Cost & Compliance Control
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranty conditions.
• Ensure procurement activities remain within approved budgets.
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, ethical standards, and audit requirements.
• Support internal and external procurement audits.
Coordination & Reporting
• Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, finance, and logistics teams.
• Track procurement schedules to support project timelines.
• Prepare procurement reports, supplier performance reviews, and cost summaries.
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCED REQUIRED
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Certification or formal training in Procurement, Supply Chain, or Contract Management is an advantage.
• Proven experience using SAP (MM module preferred) for procurement, purchase orders, contracts, and supplier management.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in procurement within construction, infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering materials, specifications, and construction methods.
