Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Operations Environment Coordinator to be based in Maputo.
ACTIVITIES
• Support development and implementation of environmental monitoring plans and procedures.
• Review and recommend improvements in contractors’ environmental documents.
• Coordinates environmental contractor selection and onboarding process.
• Interfaces with C&P and Finance to ensure contractual planning, bidding and selection, including placement of purchase requests, payment of invoices, etc.
• Develop and implement contractor environmental performance reporting tools (daily, weekly and monthly).
• Supports corporate environmental reporting.
• Coordinate waste management to ensure compliance with Company waste management plan, relevant documents from group environmental referential, Mozambique regulations and international standards applicable to the Project.
• Prepare and implement audits on contractors and waste management facilities.
• Prepare waste management reporting data.
• Investigate and propose waste avoidance/reduction initiatives.

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCED REQUIRED
• Minimum postgraduate degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Ecology or any closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience required
• Experience in Environmental Management in Oil & gas industry a plus
• Good working knowledge of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards and other good international industry practice as well as implementation of such
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-cultural situations and with cross-discipline professionals
• Ability to develop and implement sustainable processes
• Fluency in Portuguese and strong working knowledge of English, with the ability to write professionally in both languages
• Computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
