Our client, a leading global provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Civil QA/QC Inspector to be based in Afungi.
JOB DIMENSIONS
• Mozambique LNG is a strategic project led by the company – order of magnitude cost of + $20 billion.
• Onshore facilities include 2 LNG trains (total of 13), LNG and Condensate storage, Marine Facilities (Jetty and loading facilities), Utilities and Early Site Infrastructure (Resettlement Village, Security works, airport, permanent camps, and roads)
• Onshore EPC contracts contract value is approximately $9 billion, including Construction at circa $4 billion.
• Site Personnel on Board is expected to peak at 15,000.
The CIVIL / Concrete inspector will be supporting the CIVIL QA/QC Lead in all related activities.
ACTIVITIES
• Inspire safety commitment in Client and all Contractors and Subcontractors teams via deep knowledge of HSE and leadership by example.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE requirements across works to promote a healthy and safe work environment.
• Analyze and report performance of all Contractors and Subcontractors activities, identify any deviations/risks and contribute to timely propose mitigations to Project Management Team
• Assist his/her manager to ensure compliance with agreed standards and specifications.
• To maintain good relationships with Contractors/Subcontractors, whilst ensuring the necessary controls are in place to achieve the objectives of the Project.
• Report activities which may have a detrimental effect on quality and schedule and cost Area Management Team.
• To liaise with other disciplines to improve effectiveness of the Team
• Keep his/her manager informed of all events which may affect the successful completion of the project goals.
• Act as QA / QC / Inspection Representative with the Contractor and Subcontractors ensuring fully conversant and compliant with all Company project QA / QC / civil and concrete Inspection related standards and procedures.
• Review/comment on contractors’ quality plans, ITP’s and related documentation.
• Ensure correct inspection workforce levels are maintained by contractor and subcontractors.
• Ensure that all nonconformities are resolved, track trends and make recommendations to management.
• Participate in management of site QA / QC / civil and concrete Inspection interfaces and ensure that Company / Project standards and procedures are fully aligned.
• Participate in daily/weekly/monthly meetings as required.
• Compile necessary reports (daily/weekly/monthly) related to the discipline and scope.
• Advise his/her manager and other Discipline Superintendents on all aspects of QA / QC / Concrete and civil Inspection activities.
• Supervise and control the Contractors, their sub-contractors and extended supply chain in all QA/QC civil / concrete and Inspection activities, to ensure that the Plant is constructed in compliance with COMPANY specifications, agreed external specifications, approved procedures, and drawings, etc.
Assist to gather and validates ‘lessons learnt’ from all project team and provides feedback
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Primary objective is to provide high technical support to all project QA/QC Civil and concrete related activities, assuring they are conducted in a manner compliant with Project requirements with EPC Contractor as per project rules including project objectives for HSE, Quality, Schedule and Cost aspect.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors’ personnel to ensure the required standards are met.
• Coordination with other departments for the safe and on?time execution of the work, to deliver a fit?for?purpose facility.
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCED REQUIRED
• Education: Engineering degree or equivalent in related discipline with post qualification in QC/Inspection in civil discipline, preferable within Oil & Gas
• 10 years’ experience in related discipline works and a suitable general knowledge in oil and gas industry.
• At least 5 five years of specific experience.
• Understanding of areas critical to the success of projects: safety, environmental, work organization, schedule, and reputational risk.
• Strong HSE culture.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills required. Portuguese or French is advantageous.
