Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Health & Safety Manager to oversee various electrical, civil, and mechanical construction projects. This on-site position is critical for ensuring a safe work environment and maintaining compliance across all project phases, from substation upgrades to concrete rehabilitations.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Enforce and Develop Safety Programs: You will be responsible for enforcing project-specific safety programs, developing activity hazard assessments, and conducting daily on-site safety meetings to promote a proactive safety culture.
- Manage Safety Documentation and Audits: This role requires meticulous management of all safety submittals and documentation. You will perform regular safety audits, document corrective actions, and oversee safety-related field change requests.
- Oversee Contractor Compliance: You will provide contractor oversight to ensure all on-site personnel and their activities comply with established safety protocols and regulatory standards.
- Utilize EHS Software Platforms: The ideal candidate will be proficient in standard computer software, including Microsoft Office. You will also assist in implementing and managing the EHS Electronic Software Platform at the jobsite.
Qualifications
- Education: B.S. in a basic science or a technical degree in EH&S management, or relevant work experience in the field.
- Experience: At least 8-10 years of related construction safety experience is required.
- Skills: Demonstrated ability to utilize computer software, including Microsoft Office, intra/internet, and EHS Electronic Software Platforms.
