Our client, a global leading provider in the Poultry industry, is looking to appoint a successful Engineering Manager to be based in Maputo.
POSITION MISSION
The Engineering Manager is responsible for defining, leading, and implementing the engineering strategy across operations, ensuring the proper functioning, modernization, and expansion of industrial units and supporting infrastructure, while guaranteeing high standards of production efficiency, biosecurity, animal welfare, quality, food safety, and sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define and execute the engineering strategy for all group units.
• Lead engineering, maintenance, and project teams, ensuring high availability and reliability of equipment and facilities.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee capital investment projects (CAPEX), including construction, expansion, and modernization of industrial units.
• Manage the engineering budget (CAPEX and OPEX), controlling energy costs, consumption, and operational efficiency.
• Implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, reducing downtime and production losses.
• Work closely with Production teams.
• Promote technological innovation, digitalization, and continuous improvement of industrial and poultry processes.
• Define and monitor technical and operational performance indicators (KPIs), reporting to Executive Management.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation, or related fields).
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the agrifood or poultry sector.
• Proven experience in managing technical teams, industrial maintenance, and engineering projects.
• Solid knowledge of industrial processes, refrigeration systems, automation, utilities, and biosecurity.
• Strong leadership, planning, and decision-making skills.
• Good command of technical English.
