Pay: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas): 

  • Colorado, Hawaii,  Illinois,  Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington,  Washington DC:$145,200 – $255,990
  • California, Massachusetts, New York:$167,000 – $289,340

For other states, the range will reflect the final work location, and all offers consider the role’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business factors.



POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is for an ASIC/FPGA Engineering Manager supporting more than 50 programs and R&D efforts across military, civil, and commercial space, missiles and missile defense platforms, satellite surveillance platforms, deep space exploration, and manned flight missions. You will serve as a technical and people leader within a Silicon Solutions team that is building a best-in-class ASIC/FPGA capability, leveraging your background in ASIC/FPGA development or verification to drive project execution, delivery, and team performance.



RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manage multiple ASIC/FPGA projects concurrently, effectively delegating both technical and project responsibilities within the team to manage workload.

  • Own delivery of all assigned projects, managing scope, schedule, and budget to within approximately ±10%, using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate.

  • Apply Earned Value Management System (EVMS) practices and communicate effectively with program/customer Control Account Managers (CAMs).

  • Develop and manage strong customer and program relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and communicating tactfully and effectively with stakeholders.

  • Capture and negotiate project/program scope, requirements, and budgets in collaboration with customers and internal teams.

  • Write proposals with both business and technical content and summarize them in customer/program presentations.

  • Manage subcontractor relationships and contracts for Silicon Solutions, ensuring alignment with technical and business objectives.

  • Assist in developing and refining processes for customer, contractor, and business engagements.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership to a team of ASIC/FPGA engineers, including architects, designers, DSP specialists, and verifiers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in design, debug, and/or verification of ASICs or FPGAs.
  • Experience leading or managing ASIC or FPGA projects.
  • 14+ years of professional experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship is required per program requirements.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in design, debug, and/or verification of ASICs or FPGAs.
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) using Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • Customer facing experience in areas such as product/services sales, marketing, or field engineering.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent project management tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience with Atlassian JIRA or equivalent tracking tools.
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is preferred.
  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx Versal devices is strongly preferred.
  • System design experience and familiarity with RF or Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
  • Understanding of system and hardware requirements for space applications.
  • Prior people management experience, including hiring, performance management, and talent development.
  • MBA or similar advanced business education is a plus.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and continuous learner with strong emotional intelligence (EQ).
