Our client, a global leading provider in the Oil and Gas Terminal industry, is looking to appoint a successful Procurement Officer to be based in Beira.
JOB SUMMARY
Manage the entire process of acquiring goods and services, ensure their timely availability with the best cost-benefit ratio, superior quality and efficiency, while maintaining the operational functioning of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Conduct supplier audits and performance assessments to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Negotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms, to achieve the best value for the company.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed while avoiding overstocking.
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials.
• Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
• Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal teams to ensure alignment of procurement activities with project schedules.
• Address and resolve any issues related to order discrepancies, delivery delays, or quality concerns.
• Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain challenges within the construction industry.
• Analyze market data to forecast future purchasing needs and budget requirements.
• Recommend adjustments to procurement strategies based on market analysis and project needs.
• Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and correspondence.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role within the construction industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze market data and make informed purchasing decisions.
• Knowledge of construction materials and supply chain management practices.
