Our client, a leading global provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Senior Project Engineer to based in Maputo.

Responsibilities

•    Promote & comply with applicable safety instructions and other Company HSE procedures in all activities.

•    Launch and manage pre-FEED and FEED studies respecting governance related to both internal and external stakeholders.

•    Prepare the statement of requirements and the technical dossier for call for tenders and manage the process in duet with C&P until FID passes. 

•    On a day-to-day basis, call for, participate to and/or organize all the necessary technical and/or co-ordination meetings with the implementing stakeholders (contractors, site construction team, HSE…) required to achieve the performance of the execution. 

•    Call and lead the technical review of the technical documentation on project 

•    Maintain and communicate up to date project progress dashboard (HSE, progress, expenditures, schedule, risks) for each assigned project 

•    Tackle interfaces arising from local environment. Adopt high flexibility and proactive behavior to assess and manage changes. 

•    Maintain close monitoring of project in construction phase supported by supervision team on site and provide support in return as required. 

•    Identify and engage any support deemed necessary from HQ/OneTech and call for planned project reviews required by governance. 

•    Prepare yearly budget of assigned projects for consolidation.

Qualification and background

•    Minimum 10 years’ experience project engineer, autonomous in implementation, open to compromise, delivery minded, i.e. looking for what can be done rather than for reasons not to act. 

•    Capacity to work in parallel on different projects within a matrixial organization 

•    Show empathy and solidarity for project’s benefit to find solutions and enforce team spirit while banning any complacency for any matter and primarily, HSE and quality. 

•    Good communication as well as synthesis skills, organized, dynamic and demonstrate openness and a sense of listening
