Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Piping Valve Vessel Supervisor to be based in Afungi.
JOB DIMENSIONS
• Onshore facilities include 2 LNG trains (total of 13 mtpa), LNG and Condensate storage, Marine Facilities (Jetty and loading facilities), Utilities and Early Site Infrastructure (Resettlement Village, Security works, airport, permanent camps, and roads)
• Onshore EPC contracts contract value is approximately $9 billion, including Construction at circa $4 billion
• Site Personnel on Board is expected to peak at 15,000.
ACTIVITIES
• Inspire safety commitment in Client and all Contractors and Subcontractors teams via deep knowledge of HSE and leadership by example.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE requirements across works to promote a healthy and safe work environment.
• The Supervisor shall ensure that construction activities are performed as per project requirements and specifications, in terms of construction methods, safety, quality and schedule.
• The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the site works are properly managed and executed by the Contractor and their approved Subcontractors in accordance with the Contract Agreement.
• Assist to gather and validates ‘lessons learnt’ from all project team and provides feedback
• Prepare, coordinate and monitor construction activities, as per project requirements and construction procedures, up to sub-system handover to Commissioning team, by maintaining close relationship with the EPC Contractor.
• Ensure strong physical presence at Site to demonstrate safety commitment, technical oversight and immediate reporting to his management for all technical or coordination issues or potential risks, as well as any HSE incident.
• Responsible for verification of progress reporting of construction activities per discipline.
• Participate to all quality surveillance programs and inspect the works per discipline as directed in the approved ITPs.
• Support the development of execution plans, method statements, and other relevant procedures to ensure that work plans and scopes are aligned with project strategies and deliver a safe, qualitative and timely execution of the project.
• Support the Superintendent per discipline, by providing inputs and coordination, in the resolution of technical issues .
• Participate to all necessary construction planning meetings to ensure a smooth resolution of all technical issues, prior any impact to schedule or cost, as well by anticipating such issues as required.
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
• Project entity is a multinational joint venture, has a large social performance element and is project financed by high profile lenders
• Afungi Site is extremely remote in Northern Mozambique with unreliable infrastructure and communications.
• The site is subject to mitigation measures based on Malaria and general security risks.
• Rotational position
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• The Piping Valve Vessel Supervisor reports to the Field Engineering & Supervision Manager but works in a transverse mode with the packages superintendent.
• He is responsible for construction activities within specified area in close collaboration with EPC Contractor as per project rules including project objectives for HSE, Quality, Schedule and Cost aspect
• He coordinate with other departments for the safe and on?time execution of the work, to deliver a fit?for?purpose facility.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Education: A degree/diploma qualification or equivalent in related discipline field and/or Oil & Gas construction projects.
• Minimum of 10 years of practical experience in Piping Vessel Oil & Gaz industrial plants, with good knowledge of relevant specifications, and technical codes and standards.
• Solid knowledge of Project execution best practices, gained during former experience on projects of similar size,
• Analytical, rigorous, aimed at results, with the ability to adapt to changing constraints,
• Good interpersonal communications in an international environment,
• Understanding of areas critical to the success of large complex projects: safety, environmental, work organization, cost, schedule, quality, organizational competency, and reputational risk.
• Strong HSE culture and safety leadership, effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence critical decisions.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills required. Portuguese or French is advantageous.
