Our client, a global leading provider in the Oil and Gas industry, is looking to appoint a successful Loan Implementation and Management Specialist to be based in Afungi.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
For the Onshore Geotechnical Survey for the Project, we require a Third-Party Geotechnical QC (Inspector) at the site, Cabo Delgado Province, Mozambique for 3-month project.
The Onshore Geotechnical QC’s key responsibilities and daily activities include, but not limited to:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF ONSHORE GEOTECHNICAL QC
• Monitor and assess Contractor technical procedures and processes
• Verify adherence to the contract technical requirements
• Provide where appropriate, quality control / verification software to check performance of acquisition systems
• Develop sampling/PCPT borehole prognosis based on available geophysical interpretation
• Develop offshore laboratory testing prognosis, and determine portions of sample specimens for onboard testing and for storage
• Determine sample adequacy (quantity and quality) for onshore laboratory testing
• Verify adherence to the contract SSH&E requirements and Project SSH&E Plan
• Evaluate deviations, provide recommendations to Company, and Communicate deviations to Contractor designated personnel
• Recommend technical improvements or corrective actions
• Represent and provide decision-making in Project related technical and commercial matters
• Review, define and endorse Management of Change, including commercial implications
• Participate in incident investigations, if required
• Work with other Company Representatives and office-based project team
• Assist in technical audits (instruments and positioning accuracy) to assess compliance with Clients audit and contract requirements, as well as regulatory and industry standards
DAILY ACTIVITIES
• Participation in Daily Meetings/Toolbox talks, including offering safety moments on occasion (to emphasize EM commitment to safety)
• Check calibration certificates of equipment (drilling equipment, laboratory equipment, CPT, etc.)
• Verify the investigation coordinates
• Witness geotechnical investigation to ensure safety and minimal downtime
• Witness sample extraction and handling to ensure data quality
• Witness laboratory testing for adherence of standard practice
• Verify sample storage status
• Review CPT processing and interpretation
• QA/QC of Laboratory data and borehole log
• Review daily progress report with representatives
