Our client, a leading fine dining restaurant, is looking to appoint a successful General Manager to based in Maputo.
JOB SUMMARY:
Operational Leadership
• Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring efficiency across all departments (kitchen, service, administration).
• Develop, implement, and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor and maintain service quality and customer experience standards.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Team Management & Culture
• Lead, coach, and develop multidisciplinary teams, including kitchen, front-of-house, HR, and finance.
• Foster a high-performance, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and leadership development sessions.
• Resolve conflicts effectively and ensure strong internal communication across departments.
Financial & Commercial Oversight
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and forecasting.
• Optimize cost control, purchasing, and inventory systems.
• Drive revenue through strategic planning, upselling, and identifying new business opportunities.
• Establish KPIs and ensure all teams are aligned with financial and operational goals.
Marketing & Brand Management
• Oversee and support marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
• Maintain and elevate the restaurant’s public image and reputation.
• Lead customer feedback processes and ensure continuous improvement of service standards.
Strategic Planning & Growth
• Set short- and long-term business objectives aligned with ownership vision.
• Monitor industry trends and integrate best practices in operations, technology, and guest services.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, partnerships, and expansion.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or similar
• Certifications in leadership or operations management are valued
• Experience managing high-end restaurants
• Experience in luxury hospitality
• International hospitality training
• Knowledge of operations, HR, marketing, and finance
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
• Fluency in Portuguese and English
