Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful Resettlement Data Officer to be based in Cabo Delgado.


ACTIVITIES

• Undertake regular inspections to ensure that data collection by a third-party is being managed in line with business protocols and requirements.

• Undertake random field verification during.
• Provide GIS/survey and mapping support for all resettlement implementation activities for the Project.
• Conduct field visits for verification of GIS survey and mapping effectiveness of resettlement and livelihood restoration activities and training of field data collection methods and make recommendations to management as required
• Ensure all data collected is adequately stored, backed up and managed in the Project’s data repository.
• Be the custodian of the resettlement physical and digital data archive
• Supervise the field investigation of all new occupations, for both physical and economic displacement claims, and ensure the registration of all evidence.
• Manage all Resettlement related equipment (e.g., GPS units, plotters, printers, cameras) for data collection, processing and reporting
• Conduct spatial analyses and provide specific mapping support for resettlement team and SED more broadly.
• Produce regular reports/progress maps, plus ad hoc information to support Project activities.

Provide training on IP mobilization and as required during the execution of the works

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCED REQUIRED  

 

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Data Management or related field
• At least three (3) years’ experience with social geospatial data management and analysis
• Good understanding of the data processes involved in compensation associated with Resettlement and a comprehensive understanding of data management requirements to feed the compensation processes (collection, QA/QC, analysis, distribution, workflow and data maintenance, etc.) 
• Good understanding of the importance of resettlement data integrity and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes.
• Experience with database management software, including ArcGIS Pro, SDE, FileMaker, ODBC, ISOMETRIX and Borealis
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken) required.
