Position Overview

 

Our client is a leader in developing cutting-edge solutions for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and other government agencies, with a focus on space operations. We're looking for an experienced

Test Automation Engineer to join a growing Agile team. In this role, you will help develop mission-critical applications for space tracking and surveillance by working with software engineers and space analysts to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and stability of the software.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties

 

• Design, develop, and execute automated and manual tests for a range of astrodynamics capabilities, data products, and reporting tools.

• Develop test plans and procedures to ensure software meets all agreed-upon expectations, providing adequate test coverage for unit, automated, and functional tests.

• Coordinate with engineers and subject matter experts in astrodynamics to identify and resolve issues.

• Assist in drafting associated test artifacts and supporting government test events.

Qualifications (Education, Experience and Skills)

 

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and at least 3 years of experience in software engineering and/or product testing. Relevant experience, training, and/or certifications may be accepted in place of a degree.

• Experience:

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g.,

    Python, Bash).

  • Experience working with testing frameworks like

    Robot Framework, Postman, or Junit.

  • Experience with build automation tools such as

    GitLab, Jenkins, or TeamCity.

  • Ability to apply a variety of tools and techniques to verify complex business processes through manual, automated, and semi-automated test cases.

• Skills:

  • An understanding of the different types and categories of software testing.

  • The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic who thrives in a fast-paced Agile environment.

  • The ability to obtain a security clearance.

• Desired Skills: Experience automating regression tests, and familiarity with Java, web services, microservices, and space domain applications.
