Job Summary
The Mechanical Lead Specialist (MCHE) will be assigned to the home office before a project starts and then to the jobsite. During a project's execution phase, travel to fabrication shops may be required. In both the home office and the jobsite, the Mechanical Lead Specialist (MCHE) will be responsible for organizing and directing MCHE-related activities, which will include multi-discipline construction. This is a
direct hire opportunity. This person may be the main contact for all MCHE activities or may coordinate with the client’s representatives on MCHE activities within their assigned area. The primary responsibilities are to ensure all jobsite operations comply with ES&H policies and procedures, design specifications, and are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

Responsible for transportation challenges associated with MCHE equipment.
Heavy lift/rigging strategies
Decisions around foundations for the unit
Welding and cryogenic piping interfaces
Specialist in the thermal insulation on MCHE equipment
Direct accurate instrumentation
Familiarity with the cool-down process of the unit
Home office contacts are with the project management team (PMT), engineering, supply chain, and
firmrepresentatives. Jobsite contacts are with jobsite personnel, including the construction management team (CMT), superintendents, subcontractors, and the
company’s management team and operating personnel.
Major Responsibilities
Responsible for jobsite operations specifically for the MCHE, including onsite activities of the
company, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and their representatives.Responsible for developing and implementing a workforce to ensure the MCHE-related organization is comprised of qualified personnel.
Establishes, coordinates, and implements MCHE construction schedules, staffing plans, and material and equipment requirements.
Controls expenditures for MCHE activities within the assigned area for labor, equipment, material, and services, ensuring operations are within budget.
Responsible for overall supervision of MCHE personnel.
Ensures performance evaluations are conducted and training programs are maintained.
Ensures subordinate personnel receive progressive training to prepare them for additional responsibilities.
Responsible for craft resources as assigned and coordinates with designated management.
Responsible for the administration of contractual activities in the assigned area. Participates in contracts and subcontracts negotiations.
Plans and implements procedures to ensure construction operations continuously adhere to engineering designs, specifications, quality standards, schedules, and budget.
Maintains relationships with the client and their representatives.
Ensures compliance with all safety codes, requirements, and standards.
Ensures the Destination Zero Philosophy is incorporated into all MCHE activities. Actively participates in safety meetings, field walkdowns, and leadership engagements.
Performs general administrative functions inherent to MCHE supervisory positions.
Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented and establishes field procedures as needed.
Possesses knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to MCHE field activities, construction technologies, and jobsite management.
Possesses knowledge of the
firm's Destination Zero Philosophy.Possesses knowledge of the Project ES&H Handbook, the Supervisors ES&H Manual, and the Project Safety Management Plan.
Possesses knowledge of the Project Construction Environmental Control Plan.
Education and Experience Requirements
10+ years of equivalent experience in LNG construction with specific knowledge and experience with MCHE activities. A University/BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management with 5+ years of experience in LNG/MCHE construction with craft supervision will also be considered.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Direct hire lump sum petrochemical experience preferred.
Experience with LNG and MCHE equipment required.
Technical knowledge of all phases of MCHE equipment construction.
Thorough knowledge of MCHE construction activities as they relate to cost, scheduling, productivity, and industrial relations.
Compliance with the
firm's Business Ethics handbook and policies.Knowledge and understanding of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and the
firm's Core Processes.Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements.
Knowledge of the
firm's "Destination Zero” safety program.Knowledge of the use of subcontracts.
Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.
