The Document Control Manager reports directly to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for developing comprehensive systems and procedures for maintaining document control and change control of documents.   



The Manager is responsible for development and enforcement of procedures governing document creation, document publication, use, document archival, and document disposal.  


 

Responsibilities

Knowledge of document management systems within a LNG environment. Must have experience in establishing programs which support transfer of project documentation from EPC contractors and have direct experience developing programs which cover all aspects of the enterprise’s activities.  

  • The Document Manager must have direct experience with evaluating and improving existing document management systems. 
  • Must have experience with document control software namely Documentum
  • Must be experienced in developing and implementing reporting methodologies, quality control schemes, and improvement programs.   
  • Must have strong organizational and team building skills. 
  • Develop and submit a Document Management Plan and Schedule, to provide the necessary framework that will ensure that an effective and user-friendly document management is in place in support of plant startup.
  • Work with the client’s team to assess current document control schemes, understand departmental needs and develop an integrated enterprise-wide Document Management program which covers both hardcopy and digital document control.
  • Develop procedures covering all aspects of Document and Information Management
  • Develop enterprise wide numbering system to ensure ease of document retrieval and compatibility with document management software.
  • Develop and implement a plan to address current stored documentation to ensure compatibility with the newly developed Document Management Plan.
  • Develop training materials and user guides covering Document Management Procedures
  • Deliver and facilitate training/communication sessions covering the new systems.
  • Evaluate program’s effectiveness through self-audit     
  • Carries out other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline 
  • At least ten years of experience in designing, developing, and delivering Document Management Systems for LNG facilities.   
  • Must be able to organize and execute a plan or project with critical time constraints
  • Exceptional leadership and administrative abilities are required
  • Effective communicator at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines, industries and governmental agencies.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills must have good command of the English language.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects.
  • Computer savvy including Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Must have experience with document management software such as SharePoint and Documentum.
