Global Edge has an immediate need for a

Control Valve Planner

in

Torrance, CA.  This will be a full-time, long-term contract, onsite role working with a leader in the industrial gasses sector.

  • Only considering candidates with 5+ years as a Control Valve Planner and 5+ years as a Control Valve Technician

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.) 
  • Understands control valve construction and workflow processes. 
  • Ability to accurately perform other duties as assigned. 
  • Understands quality standards as outlined by company. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s, valve specs, and location plans 
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing test /work packages for issuance to the field 
  • 5+ years as a Control Valve Planner 
  • Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6. 
  • 5+ years of Control Valve Tech maintenance experience and/or CV maintenance planning 
  • Ability to QA/QC work packages after work completion. 
  • Ability to understand Preventive Maintenance programs and how to translate that to work packages. 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assists with the development of the control valve work scope.
  • Identify, scope, and produce construction work-packages for execution. 
  • Ability to read BOM and identify parts needed for valve overhauls 
  • Perform and lead field walks for site verification to complete control valve surveys.
  • Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and mitigating safety issues in operations 
  • Organizing materials through expediting, quoting prices, and ensuring the correct parts are available for jobs 
  • Create detailed planning activities in Cleopatra for each work order utilizing planning templates as applicable.  Activities include individual tasks, manpower, durations, and assigned discipline. 
  • Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution. 
  • Create job planning packages for each work order per company guidelines for both internal and external distribution, e.g. bid events, contractor field personnel, etc.  Packages may include pictures, P&IDs, BOMs, tools, safe work procedures, applicable standards, QC requirements, etc. 
  • Support the company’s Management of Change processes, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner. 
  • The ability to effectively communicate scope, revisions, and activity breakdowns to other groups. 
  • Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites. Conduct frequent formal housekeeping inspections of plant areas. 
  • Complete close out and documentation as required by company standards and procedures. 

PERFORMANCE STANDARD:  

  • Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines. Travel may be required as much as 25-35% depending on projects 
  • Works professionally and harmoniously with co-workers, supervisors, management, support personnel, program participants, and business-related people. 
  • Utilizes positive and constructive attitude toward resolution of problems and conflicts. 
  • Accepts direction, criticism, and supervision. 
  • Demonstrates ability to remain calm in demanding situations. 
  • Ability to work within and promote teamwork philosophy. 
  • Makes good use of time, completing assigned tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Ability to demonstrate and perform efficiently and reliably all categories of this document. 

REQUIRED ABILITIES AND CONDUCT:  

  • Able to achieve various State mandated certifications, TWIC, and other requirements as may be deemed necessary. 
  • Pass Criminal background investigation. Individuals will be subject to pre-employment, reasonable cause periodic, random, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing. 
  • Prioritize “Zero is achievable” safety policy in words and actions to protect self, others and the environment.  
  • High ethical standards - unwilling to compromise on worker safety and regulatory compliance requirements. 
  • Demonstrates positive, supportive, and cooperative behavior in interacting with co-workers, supervisors and management. 
  • Maintain confidentiality of written and verbal information pertaining to the company, its staff, management and participating onsite affiliates.   

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • 40 hours/week during Planning Phase (expected from 9/2025-12/2026)
  • 7/12's during T/A Execution Phase (1/2027-2/2027)
  • Project Closeout (2/2027 - 3/2027)

OTHER:

  • Local candidates preferred (CA/TX/LA)
  • Required PPE: Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, FRC clothing
  • Schedule: Standard, 40hrs/week (7/12’s during outage execution, see JD)
  • Contract: 12 months, will be extended to March 2027 for the right candidate
  • Pay Rate: $76/hr. (Non-Exempt)
  • Per Diem: $277/day for first 3 months, $221.60/day for the remainder (If Applicable)
