Power Systems Modeling and Controls Engineer
Position Overview
Our team is looking for a
Power Systems Modeling and Controls Engineer. This is a
1-year contract role, full-time (8 hours/day). We prefer candidates who can work
at or near San Francisco, CA, or from our
Houston, TX office, but we're also open to
fully remotework within the U.S. The salary range is
$100-$155k/yearwithout markups, and
no relocation is offeredfor this position. We're looking to interview candidates
ASAP, ideally next week, to support our company's strategy of achieving
100GW of renewable energy by 2030 and accelerating renewable development in the U.S.Responsibilities and Essential Duties

Qualifications
- Education: M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Energy & Power Systems, Power Electronics, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field of study.
- Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a field related to power system and power electronics (modeling, analysis, control, optimization, etc.).
Skill in
power system modeling (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink).Proficiency in
EMT and HIL simulations (e.g., ETAP, PowerFactory, OPAL-RT).Strong understanding of
power system protection, control, and stability, with demonstrated research creativity (publications, patents, etc.).Experience with
transmission and distribution system modeling,
renewable energy integration, and
smart grid technologies (IRBs, GFMs, microgrids, etc.).Knowledge of
electrical grid infrastructure and grid codes in major ISOs/TSOs in US (i.e., ERCOT, CAISO, PJM).
- Technical Skills:
Experience in
software programmingand strong coding skills in
Python, C, C++.
- Other:
Knowledge of
regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NERC, FERC).A
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.- Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
