Position Overview

Our team is currently looking for an Accounting Analyst Contractor for one of our clients in the Oil & Gas industry to support the Royalty & Regulatory Compliance team by working on all aspects of the owner inquiry process and assisting in the preparation of 1099 and 1042 tax filings.

Responsibilities & Essential Duties

• Resolve phone and email related owner inquiries pertaining to check detail, revenue, production, tax, ownership, and master data.

• Perform analysis related to owner inquiries within SAP and other available resources.

• Oversee the maintenance of master data setups for owners in SAP to ensure correct reporting.

• Perform testing in multiple environments (SAP and OneSource) to verify reporting-related enhancements are functioning as expected.

• Maintain key metrics and dashboards pertaining to owner inquiries.

• Assist in the preparation of 1099 and 1042 tax filings.

• Ensure that owner tax reports are compliant with State and Federal regulations.

• Collaborate with subject matter experts in the Revenue and Land departments.

• Demonstrate initiative in developing your skills and drive value for the business.

• Document, maintain, and seek to develop lean processes within the department.

• Carry out requests and participate on special projects as needed.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)

• 2 to 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. Owner Relations and/or Revenue Accounting experience is a plus.

• Experience with SAP/PRA is a plus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with State and Federal regulations relating to 1099, 1042, and State withholding tax.  Experience with OneSource is a plus.

• Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills.

• Proactive and able to work independently or on a team in time-sensitive environments.

• Accounting or Business degree

• SAP/PRA experience

• Advanced Excel skills preferred
