Responsibilities & Essential Duties
  • Develop and establish procedures and work instructions for sampling, testing, analysis, reporting, and chemicals management to ensure seamless transition from EPC to the operations phase.
  • Conduct analyses of samples for a typical LNG plant, including LNG composition, Dewpoint (Natural Gas & other gases), Water (produced, waste, cooling), Amine solution, Natural Gas Liquids (NGL, condensate), and Oil (condition - viscosity, particles, ferrographic analysis).
  • Collect, clean, and analyze samples from various sources including Vaporized LNG, High-pressure feed gases, mixed phase liquids, Refrigerants, Amine, and Demineralized Water.
  • Ensure high data quality and integrity in all analyses. Operate laboratory equipment to perform required analyses and generate accurate and timely summary reports. Discuss out-of-specification results with operations and engineering for approvals.
  • Cooperate with other laboratory technicians and the lab supervisor to support and maintain efficient laboratory operations.
  • Log and receive samples for testing, recording lab results, and generating summary reports. Ensure data accessibility and distribution by supporting data requests, creating and automating reporting, and managing routine distribution of regular reports to leadership.
  • Work collaboratively with the Management Team to evaluate, design, execute, and monitor laboratory processes, ensuring that the outcomes align with strategic goals.
  • Provide day-to-day operational support and troubleshooting for laboratory applications and equipment.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and work closely with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven solutions.
  • Maintain expertise in oil & gas industry standards (ISO, GPA, ASTM, etc.) and apply these standards within the LNG industry. Perform regular data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to maintain data pipelines and resolve data-related issues.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for process optimization, energy efficiency improvements, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure data practices adhere to industry regulations and data privacy standards. Monitor and evaluate laboratory performance, making necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and reliability.
  • Capture and share best practices utilizing organizational learning systems.
  • Liaise closely with engineering projects and support teams.
  • Support and observe HSSE policies as required.
  • Travel within the U.S. required 10% of the time.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills)
  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Environmental Chemistry, or a Related Field and 48 months of experience.
  • 12 months of experience in the following: Gas Chromatography (GC), Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP), Ion Chromatography (IC), and Total Organic Carbon (TOC) analysis.
  • Proficiency in Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data management and reporting.
  • Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 17025, including method validation and instrument calibration. 

Rate of Pay: $138,000/year
