Our client, a global leading provider in the Transports industry, is looking to appoint a successful Workshop Manager to be based in Beira.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Ensure that all maintenance and repair services meet quality and safety standards.

•    Supervise, train, and develop the maintenance team.

•    Contribute to reducing operating costs without compromising service quality.

•    Create work schedules and coordinate the daily activities of the team.

•    Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans.

•    Create and manage maintenance timetables.

•    Respond promptly to unexpected breakdowns and emergencies, minimizing the impact on operations.

•    Monitor fleet performance.

•    Conduct regular inspections of vehicles and workshop facilities.

•    Manage the inventory of parts and materials, ensuring the availability of necessary items for maintenance.

•    Control the workshop budget and optimize operational costs.

•    Maintain effective communication with other company departments to ensure the coordination of maintenance activities with operational needs.

•    Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.

•    Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures within the workshop.

•    Participate in the recruitment and selection process for mechanics.

•    Evaluate the performance of the team and workshop processes.

•    Prepare and submit reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

•    Age between 35 and 50 years.

•    Bachelor’s degree in mechanical Engineering.

•    Minimum of 10 years of experience, preferably in the road transport sector.

•    Experience with Cummins L360 engine mechanics, gearboxes, and differentials.

•    Basic knowledge of automotive electricity is an advantage.

•    Proficiency in MS Excel.

•    Strong leadership and team management skills.

•    Effective communication skills.

•    Excellent people skills.

•    Fluency in Portuguese.

•    Ability to work under pressure.

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

•    Familiarity with quality management systems.
