“My role is taking care of the contractor and all their needs,” Balde explains. He ensures that nothing is left to chance by managing flights, rotations, airport arrivals, hotel check-ins, and onboarding logistics. For many contractors, Balde is the first face they see when they arrive, meeting them at the airport, assisting with customs and immigration, and helping them settle in comfortably.
Balde’s responsibilities extend well beyond travel coordination. He supports contractors with everything from accommodation issues to medical visits, payroll questions, and lost luggage claims. With years of experience in international customer service and airport operations, he brings deep local knowledge and calm problem-solving to every situation. “If there’s a problem, I solve it,” he says. “That’s my goal, to make sure they are happy.”
What sets Balde apart is his availability and dedication. Contractors know they can reach him at any time, even in the early hours of the morning. “Sometimes it’s 3 a.m., and they message me on WhatsApp,” he shares. “If I’m awake, I handle it right away.” His responsiveness has helped resolve urgent situations quickly, including travel disruptions and last-minute mobilization challenges.
Being on the ground in Guinea enables Balde to provide hands-on care that truly differentiates Global Edge. “We follow our contractors wherever they go,” he explains. “We receive them at the airport, go to the site, and stay involved. That’s why people trust us.” His local presence, language skills, and community relationships help contractors feel supported and confident as they navigate a new environment.
For Balde , the most rewarding part of his role is seeing contractors arrive, mobilize successfully, and work without complications. “When everything goes smoothly, and there are no complaints, I’m happy,” he says. “If they are happy, I’m happy.”
