JOB TITLE: PFP/ Coating Supervisor

Our client, a global leading provider in the Energy industry, is looking to appoint a successful PFP/ Coating Supervisor based in Afungi.
• Mozambique LNG is a strategic project led by the company – order of magnitude cost of $18 billion.
• Onshore facilities include 2 LNG trains (total of 13), LNG and Condensate storage, Marine Facilities (Jetty and loading facilities), Utilities and Early Site Infrastructure (Resettlement Village, Security works, airport, permanent camps, and roads)
• Onshore EPC contracts contract value is approximately $9 billion, including Construction at circa $4 billion.
• Site Personnel on Board is expected to peak at 15,000.
HSE Leadership:
Promote and ensure the application of project HSE policies, intervene in case of deficiencies, participate in audits and inspections, and lead by example in the field.
Work Supervision:
Oversee all coating, PFP, and insulation activities performed by contractors and subcontractors, covering modules and project infrastructure (prefabrication, construction, pre-commissioning).
Quality Control:
Validate subcontractor qualifications, approve procedures and methods, ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards (NORSOK, FROSIO, NACE, etc.)
Optimization & Constructability:
Participate in constructability reviews, propose technical improvements, anticipate and resolve technical and coordination issues.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare weekly reports, monitor production indicators, manage non-conformities and corrective actions, and ensure proper documentation traceability.
Technical Interface:
Work closely with construction, commissioning, and QA/QC teams to ensure quality and compliance of deliverables, participate in punch list management and handover dossiers.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Oversee all PFP and coating activities across the project scope (modules, buildings, equipment, piping)
• Validate qualifications and certifications of teams and subcontractors (FROSIO, NACE, etc.)
• Lead coordination meetings with contractors and other disciplines
• Proactively manage risks of delays and quality issues.
• Contribute to the preparation of handover dossiers and punch list clearance
• Minimum 10 years’ experience supervising coating/PFP/insulation works on major industrial projects (Oil & Gas, LNG, petrochemicals).
• Proven experience in team management and international environments.
• Strong knowledge of international standards and references (NORSOK, FROSIO, NACE, etc.)
• Fluent in English (Portuguese or French is a plus).
• Strong HSE culture and safety leadership, effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence critical decisions.
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills required. Portuguese or French is advantageous.
• Experience in the field of cryogenic thermal insulation is a strong plus.
